AN ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT BOOK PRESENTED TO JAMES STANNUS, Dean of Rogg and Rector of Lisburn by the Tenantry of the Most Noble Marquis of Hertford K.G, in celebration of his fiftieth year as Agent of the Estate, dated 31st October, 1867.
Each leaf gilt edged and mounted containing a series of drawings of Lisburn, the outer margins decorated with flower sprays, accompanied by written accounts in medieval script of the many improvements and advancements carried out during his half-century tenureship, signed on behalf of the tenantry by Jonathan Richardson. With letter from James Stannus thanking them for the gift and expressing his hope that his son Walter who will be inheriting the position will be as successful.
