JOHN HENRY FOLEY (1818-1874) Ino & Bacchus A life size plaster cast of a recumbent naked girl playing with an infant, a fruit strewn base, impressed Foley, Sculptor, London 1840, on a timber base, 193cms long x 100cms high. Note : Ino & Bacchus was Foley's entry for The Royal Academy in 1840 and confirmed his growing reputation. It was commissioned by Lord Ellesmere (for Bridgewater House) to be executed in marble.
