Dame Elisabeth Frink RA (1930-1993) Jason and the Golden Fleece Etching, 55 x 73cm Signed and numbered 45/70 Dame Elisabeth Frink was born in Thurlow, Suffolk in 1930. Having studied at The Guildford School of Art and Chelsea School of Art, where she was taught by Bernard Meadows, she went on to teach at St Martins School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London. Elisabeth Frink was one of Britains leading post war sculptors and her achievments were recognised in 1969 when she was awarded a CBE and again in 1982 when she was made a Dame of the British Empire. The following four prints come from the Children of the Gods series. They depict stories from Greek mythology such as the tragedy of Laos and Oedipus killing his father and the tale of Jason & the Golden Fleece.
