Semi-antique Sarouk carpet, Arak district, West Persia (Iran), Ca 1910 The large village of Sarouk never produced carpets of this appearance, rather a fairly large and export driven production was established in Arak and Ferahan where most carpets were rose red in colour, finely knotted in glossy wool, with a thick and sturdy pile, set to last for generations. This Sarouk carpet is a good example, in excellent condition throughout. 491 x 321 cms, 16'2'' x 10'7''.
