AN ANTIQUE SAMARKIND SUZANI BOKCE, Samarkand region, Tadjikistan, early 19th century, Suzani silk embroideries were originally part of dowry, with particular sizes woven for specific uses (bridal bedspreads, child's bedspread, etc). The square pieces (bokce) were probably woven as a wrap/cover for the family Koran.
