Philippa Bayliss (née Garner) (b.1940) Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Tony Kenny Oil on canvas, 89 x 71cms (35 x 28'') Signed and indistinctly dated Provenance: From the collection of the singer and actor Tony Kenny This musical was the biggest stage show of the year in Dublin in 1974 and starred Tony Kenny as Joseph and Noel Pearson as Jacob. It was performed at Goffs in Co. Kildare and later in the Olympia and Gaiety theatres in Dublin. The actor met his wife Joan when she was playing the temptress Mrs Potiphar in the production. Philippa Bayliss formally trained as a painter at The Byam Shaw School of painting, London. She returned to Ireland in 1967 where she became the first curator of Castletown House. Her work can be found in the collections of the Bank of Ireland, The Butler Gallery and The Mater Private Hospital.
