3rd Batallion, South Tipperary Brigade, William Quillinan His War of Independence medal and his War of Independence 50th Anniversary Survivors Medal, together with a ALS from Thomas Carew, South Tipperary Brigade recommending him for military pension, dated 22-9-38 addressed ''To whom it may concern'' and describing Quillinan as a ''first class officer'' who ''owing to a physical disability he was not allowed to take part in active service, but owing to the dangerous nature of his duties, he rendered more valuable services''.
