An oval silver badge of hollow domed two piece construction, the obverse engraved at centre with crowned Maid of Erin harp, dividing the designation ''1st - REGt'', twin ribbons above and below bearing the title ''Royal Dublin Volunteers''. Reverse with eight line presentation inscription ''VIth Compy. First Medal Adjudged to Mr Saml Harding for his Superior Skill in Arms, July 26th 1800'', the whole set within a reeded frame with integral hinged suspension loop, circa 1800, 3.6'' x 2.4'' (9.1x 6.1cm) vertical including suspension loop, apparently not hallmarked, 1.6 troy ounces approx.
