JESSIE DOUGLAS (FL. 1893-1928) Portrait of an old Breton Woman Watercolour, 52 x 37cm Signed Jessie Douglas was born in Belfast. She is recorded as a member of the Belfast Art Society in 1893 and went on to be elected Vice President of that society in 1896. She exhibited regularly with views of Holland, France, England and Ireland, as well as genre subjects, such as the present work. Little else is known of this accomplished artist.
