The obverse of the medal bears the inscription “Indochine Française 1887 1937”, is signed and is centered by a standing Marianne surrounded by five visages of Indochina. The reverse of the medal bears the inscription “Cinquentenaire de l’Union Indochinoise Cochinchine . Annam . Tonkin . Cambodge . Laos” and is centered by a smoking incense burner. The side of the medal is engraved with the word “argent”, the French word for silver.
