Johann Hofner was a painter of animal and genre scenes. He was born on April 30, 1832. After his schooling, he became a pupil of Karl von Piloty while living in Munich, Germany. He then went on to exhibit his paintings from 1863, in both Munich and Vienna. One of his paintings can be seen in the museum in Munich. Johann Hofner died in Munich on June 29, 1913.
