A SAPPHIRE AND BLUE CHALCEDONY BRACELET AND A PAIR OF EARCLIPS, BY SEAMAN SCHEPPS

The curb-link bracelet with circular-cut sapphire links alternating with blue chalcedony links, mounted in 18K gold, signed Seaman Schepps, numbered, with maker's mark, with maker's case, length 21.7cm; Together with a pair of matching earclips, with maker's case, length 3cm

Seaman Schepps (1881-1972), the pioneering New York jeweller of the early twentieth century, is again included at Adams jewellery auction. His whimsical, colourful and daring designs, once modelled by the likes of Coco Chanel and Andy Warhol, continue to inspire today.

Amongst Schepps influential pieces is the iconic link bracelet. First introduced in the 1940s, it has remained a signature piece for the company, continuously being reworked in variations of gold, ebony, aventurine, coral and diamonds, in styles appropriate for all occasions.

The bracelet here presented is a classic example of an evening link bracelet. Alternating links of hand carved blue chalcedony and pavé sapphires interweave to dramatic effect, while matching earclips complete the Schepps vision, evoking the timeless glamour of 1940s America.
