A FINE IRISH GEORGE III FLINTLOCK CARBINE by WJ Rigby of Dublin. The fully stocked Damascus barrel with spring-loaded bayonet and swivel ramrod, mounted with brass furniture. Stamped with registration marks for West Cork.
This Carbine and the pair of Irish George III Calvary pistols (Lot 14) are consecutively numbered 'WC 429; 430; 431'.
This model of carbine was of a type supplied to the Royal Irish Constabulary, and the Irish Custom Service in 1818.
