A copy signed, John OByrne (grandfather of the present Robert OByrne), of an original pedigree attested 6th sept. 1738, showing the origins of the Gerns in France, then Wales and coming to Ireland with Strongbow. The later entries are more interesting showing settlement at Gernonstown, Co. Louth and intermarriage with similar families, Plunketts, Barnewalls, Beataghs, Darcys, Warrens and Keatings amongst others,
