An eviction scene, a pathetic Irish family, mother with baby held by an agent with a pistol, the father held by RIC men. their furniture is thrown outside the cottage surrounded by policemen and on looking neighbours. the battering-ram is labelled "Balfour's Maiden" and the legend reads: "The epitaph on the grave of this Government may run thus:- 'While we held office and power in Ireland, we did our duty - WE PROTECTED THE WEAK'"- The Brave Mr. Balfour's peroration in defence of his salary.
