A LONG CORAL AND QUARTZ NECKLACE BY IRADJ MOINI, composed of sixteen strands of graduated series of cylindrical coral corallium rubrum beads, the strands also of graduated length, the longest measuring approx 66cm, suspended from a large gem-set clasp at either end, the larger clasp detachable with brooch pin, and both clasps suspending a further four strands of series of oval-shaped yellow citrine beads, length approx 51cm
Iradj Moini is a renowned designer of couture jewellery. His work is exhibited in museums around the world including, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art (Iris Apfel's collection in 2006) and the Louvre Museum where three pieces of his jewellery are permanently on display as part of the Trop collections. Iradj Moini's jewellery is regularly published in high fashion magazines and publications.
Formally trained as an architect, he began his career as an architect restoring historical buildings in New York City. In the late 80's, he abandoned his career in architecture to pursue his life's calling, designing jewellery. His first break came when he began working as a jewellery designer for Oscar De La Renta. Each piece of Iradj's Jewellery is entirely handmade and one of a kind. In fact, many of his vintage pieces are being collected as works of art.
