Maurice MacGonigal PRHA (1900-1979) View from Bealadangan Towards Groumna Island, South Connemara Oil on board, 41 x 51cm (16 x 20'') Signed Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Carmel Long and Richard Dennis Esq. This work is thought to date circa 1935-40 when the artist stayed in this area with Arland Ursher and painted extensively the Hookers and P?c?ns that were still very active as a means of transporting cargo from Galway to the islands. Gorumna Island is now connected to the mainland by causeway. We thank Ciar?n MacGonigal for his help in cataloguing this lot.
