Rose Maynard Barton, RWS (1856-1929) Charing Cross Bridge, London Watercolour, 36.2 x 53.3cm (14.25 x 21'') Signed and dated 1896 Exhibited: Dublin, Royal Hibernian Academy, 1896, no. 192. Born in Co. Tipperary, Barton studied in Paris under Henri Gervex where she acquired her fondness for plein-air sketching. She is perhaps best known for her foggy depictions of London and Dublin, many of which were published in 'Familiar London' in 1904.
