A SUITE OF TWO (2) pewter-MOUNTED PORCELAIN ‘SANDUO’ SWEETMEAT DISHES
CHINA, CIRCA 1900-1920
It is composed of two round cups tin-mounted with a central grasp. Each cup is made of porcelain and painted in iron red enamels with the theme of the ‘Three Abundances’ ( 三多, pomegranate, peach and citron) and ‘Wu Fu Peng Shou’ (五福捧寿), i.e. ‘Five Fortunes surround Longevity’. Each bears an old collector handwritten label as well as a wax Jian Ding seal.
