WITH AN APOCRYPHAL MARK YǑNG QÌNGZHǍNG CHŪN 永慶長春
CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY TO REPUBLIC / MINGUO PERIOD
It rests on a short unglazed ring foot and has a tubular body. It is finely painted in famille rose enamels with various flowers as well as with two goldfish in a lake and two butterflies. The base bears an apocryphal four-character red mark within a double square: ‘ 永慶長春’ (Yǒng qìngzhǎng chūn). Sold together with a wooden stand.
H (stand excluded): 22,5 cm

Note: Yǒng qìngzhǎng chūnmeans ‘Eternal prosperity and enduring Spring’ and is the ­­­­­­­necessary base mark for the ‘Da Ya Zhai’ wares of the Dowager Empress Cixi in the late 19th century.
