Evie Hone HRHA Saint Brendan-design for a stained glass window in Kilmalkim Church, Connemara, 1950 Gouache, 24.5 x 12cm Signed with initials. Inscribed on backing board After a Norse raid and massacre of the O'Malley Clan, only a sickly infant boy survived. He was bathed in a holy well, regaining his health and protected by St. Brendan whose bee-hive hut is represented on the right and his ship is on the left. The window was commissioned by Prof. Charles O'Malley in memory of his brother Surgeon O'Malley of Harley Street, London.
