Born in Dublin, Anne Yeats entered the RHA schools at the age of 13 where she studied for three years. She became a set designer at the Abbey Theatre (1936-40) and began painting full time in 1941. She joined the organizing committee of the IELA in 1947 becoming Secretary for a number of years. Today she is overshadowed by her father W.B. Yeats and her uncle Jack B.Yeats.
