Mark O’Neill was born in Birkenhead in 1963 to Irish immigrants. During his childhood, his family lived in many different countries including Mauritious, South Africa, Nigeria and Malta before settling in London where he studied Fine Art at the Kingston College of Art. He subsequently established himself as an illustrator and found relative success working for numerous literary publications and commercial companies such as Guinness and Harrods. However, after a number of years, he decided to r
eturn to his maternal family’s hometown of Tullamore to pursue his true passion; painting.
Mark first exhibited in Forge Gallery in County Louth and subsequently has had several sell-out shows in the Frederick Gallery, Dublin. His realist depictions of still lifes, lavish interiors and animals proved hugely popular with Irish art buyers.
