Charles Lamb RHA RUA (1893-1964) The Woman with the Evil Eye (c.1954) Oil on canvas, 50.5 x 60cm (20 x 23.75'') Signed Exhibited: RHA Annual Exhibition 1954, cat. no. 81, and ''Charles Lamb Memorial Exhibition'', Hugh Lane Gallery, April 1969, cat. no. 78. It was noted in the Memorial Exhibition catalogue ''It is firmly believed that some individuals could 'rob the butter' and work such malicious practices on their neighbours. Consequently these poor souls were left terribly alone and were even maltreated if they were seen near neighbours houses. Provenance: Previously in the Collection of Mrs. Katherine Lamb.
