A CULTURED PEARL AND DIAMOND NECKLACE, BY DAMIANI
The double chain necklace spaced with cultured pearls of white and grey tint, centred with a brilliant-cut diamond link, to a clasp highlighted by two single-cut diamonds, mounted in 18K gold, signed Damiani, Italian assay mark, length 44.2cm
Damiani was founded in 1924 by Enrico Grassi Damiani, in Valenza Italy. Enricos designs were strongly influenced by the Art Deco style and swiftly became renowned. The jewellery was favoured by affluent and noble Italian families, eventually becoming the entrusted jeweller of many influential families.
Enricos son, Damiano, succeeded him in the running of the family business which is now in the hands of Silvia, the granddaughter of Enrico. It was the first company to introduce Certificates of Authenticity for Jewellery and the only international brand to have won eighteen Diamond Internal Awards.
