Colleen Browning (b.1929) Untitled Lithograph, 76 x 56.5cm Signed and inscribed 'Artist's Proof' Colleen Browning was born in Cregg, Co Cork. After studying fine art at London's Slade School from 1946-1948 she married an English novelist, Geoffrey Wagner and they settled in New York in 1949. Throughout the 1950s Browning taught at New York City University and during her lifetime exhibited work at galleries such as the Edwin Hewitt Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Kennedy Galleries and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Browning was elected a National Academician in 1966.
