A set of six 19th Century Egyptian silver zarfs of conical form. The beaded rim above a series geometric bands in the Ottoman Turkish style, raised on an engraved spreading circular foot with beaded rim. The word zarf comes from the Arabic word meaning container or envelope. As the translation suggests it is a container and was used for coffee, inside which liners would be placed.
