AUGUSTUS OSBORNE LAMPLOUGH, ARCA BWS (1877-1930) ''The Nile near the Pyramid'' Watercolour, 17 x 34.5cm Signed and inscribed with title Label verso ''F.G. Davis & Sons Ltd., Picture Framers & Art Dealers, 19 North St. Arcade, Belfast'' Augustus Osborne Lamplough was born in Manchester and studied at the Chester School of Art. He became a lecturer at Leeds School of Art. An accomplished watercolourist, following his travels he painted scenes in Europe and the Middle East. He exhibited at the Fine Art Society, London, Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, amongst others.
