Antique Senneh rug, Sanandaj (Senneh), Hamadan province, West Persia (Iran), Ca 1900 The refined rugs woven by the Kurds of Sanandaj have a unique structure and colouring, much finer than the village and tribal work found in the surrounding countryside. Jon Thompson illustrates a similar piece in the Barbican Art Gallery exhibition, London, 1983, p. 121, where he refers to the design as ''Vekilli''. This example has particularly attractive, all natural, colours. 190 x 134 cms, 6'3'' x 4'5''
