Paul Egestorff (1906-1995) The Alarum (1949) Gouache, 30.5 x 22.5cms (12 x 9'') Signed Exhibited: ''Paul Egestorff Exhibition'', Grafton Gallery Exhibition, September 1949, Cat. No. 16 Born in London, to a German father and an Irish mother, Egestorff was educated in Germany and whilst there began to take lessons in drawing. Much influenced by the Expressionist movement in Germany, he came to Dublin about 1922 and studied under Mainie Jellett who revolutionized his work. He was a member of the Watercolour Society of Ireland. Egerstorff is included in the current exhibition at IMMA ''Analysing Cubism''
