An allegorical and symbolist painter, illustrator and engraver, born in East Hartford Connecticut. Christine Bachelor Nisbet gained her BFA at Yale. She was a pupil of George Inness and, in Paris, of Paul Wayland Bartlett. In 1929 she married Ulric Nisbet and they settled in Salcombe, Devon.
