Gilbert Albert, a Swiss jeweller, studied jewellery and design at LEcole des Arts Industriels, Geneva. At 25 his talent was noticed by Patek Philipe where he became a designer and head of the workshop. Gilbert Albert established his own jewellery house and atelier in 1962 wherein he developed new methods that made it possible to work with unusual materials.
In addition to classic designs, Albert combines mostly 18 karat gold with roughly cut stones and natural materials such as fossils, feathers, fur, minerals, petrifies organic forms and meteorites.
He was the first jeweller to set a meteorite in fine jewellery. Alberts designs strive to honour and preserve the spirit of the materials used and exemplify his love of nature.
