A LARGE GEORGE I IRISH SILVER GILT TWO HANDLED PRESENTATION CUP AND COVER, Dublin 1715, mark of Anthony Stanley, the domed cover with naturalistic thistle finial, the ovoid body with central girdle and twin harp handles, raised on stepped circular foot, the entire with later chased and embossed scrolling foliate decoration, the body also with repoussé figural 19th century Dutch style peasant scene, engraved with coat of arms and inscribed "Qui Bien Fera Bien Trouvera", crested to base and to underside of lid, (c.2,800g). 37cm high, 31cm wide over handles
