Born in 1958, Wilson studied Fine Art at the University of Ulster and the Chelsea College of Art and Design, London.
The artist has acquired several key commissions, including those of various Nobel Laureates, of the St Lucian Prize winner Derek Walcott for the National Portrait Gallery in London and a study which also hangs in the National Portrait Gallery.
In 1997 his first public sculpture commission in bronze was placed at the new Waterfront Hall, Belfast. In 1998 his second public bronz
e, the C.S. Lewis Centenary Sculpture being placed at the Hollywood Arches, Belfast.
