Born in Lancashire, England, Sean Molloy moved to Ireland in the early 70s. He began painting in his late teens and started exhibiting during the late 80s. In 1989 some of his watercolours were published as limited edition prints by Matthew Ryan (Thurles). Towards the end of the 1990s, he returned to the UK where, following a course at the Slade School, he studied painting in the University of Brighton and the Glasgow School of Art.
Since 2001, he has been based in Ireland and has exhibited wit
h several galleries, including the Kings Road Gallery in London and the Solomon Gallery, Dublin. He completed a Masters in Painting at the National College of Art & Design in 2013 and was awarded the K&M Evans Painting Prize at the RHA Annual Exhibition in 2014.
