Veronica Bolay is an Irish painter born in Germany in 1941. She studied painting and costume design at the National College of Art and Design in Hamburg and then Group Therapy at Aachen University before moving to Ireland in 1971. She has lived near Westport since 1996.
Bolay has exhibited all over Ireland, as well as in Italy and France. Her work forms part of the collections of many public institutions including Bank of Ireland, AIB, Irish Life, Dublin City University and the National Self-Po
rtrait Collection. The Paul Kane Gallery in Dublin currently represents her work, which consists of oil paintings as well as works in pastel.
Bolay is a current member of the RHA and Aosdána as well as being on the Board of Directors at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar.
