Welcome to Adam's Irish Artist Directory where you will find biographical information on artists whose work has been sold by Adams, or which features in an upcoming auction. This directory is constantly evolving and it is our intention to cover all artists of significance in Irish Art. Each artist is listed alphabetically by surname, with details of both current and previous lots for sale at Adam's Auctioneers.

Adams were the first fine art auctioneers to explore the potential of Irish art by instituting specialist sales of Irish paintings and sculpture. We began, in 1973, to hold our new famous quarterly sales in our St. Stephens Green auction rooms. Now over forty years later we continue to celebrate our passion for Irish Art in producing catalogues that are more akin to reference books and mounting some of the best sales of Irish Art held anywhere in the world.

From right across the spectrum of Irish paintings, sculpture, drawings and watercolours, we hold many world and Irish records for some of the most celebrated Irish artists. This included, in 2011, a record for a work by Jack B. Yeats for the painting 'Fair Day Mayo' which made €1,000,000 - the highest price ever paid at auction for a work of art in Ireland.

At Adam's, our work researching, valuing and selling Irish art has gained a considerable reputation within both the island of Ireland and further afield, and it is our intention to continue to grow and to lead the market for Irish Art.
